Over the past year, the Small Business Roundtable has been working with the Ministry of
Small Business, Technology and Economic Development to provide advice to government
and the small business sector on issues, strategies, and potential action to support the efforts
to build British Columbia as the most entrepreneurial economy in Canada.
Because of the economic downturn, 2008 posed some particularly difficult challenges for
small businesses. The recommendations below acknowledge these difficulties but also point
to areas where small business will be integral to British Columbia’s ability to emerge from
these challenging times stronger and more vibrant.
