Board members are appointed to serve a term of at least two years. Roundtable Board meetings are held in various locations around the province four times each year. Members also attend small business consultation sessions in their region.
The Minister responsible for Small Business chairs the Roundtable, appoints new members and provides overall strategic direction to guide the Board in the overall achievement of its mandate. Up to two Vice Chairs assist the minister.
Vice Chairs are responsible for:
- Assisting the Chair in carrying out the Chair’s duties
- Assuming the responsibilities of the Chair in the absence of the Chair or when requested by the Chair
- Performing such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Chair
The Roundtable Members are responsible for:
- Attending meetings of the Small Business Roundtable
- Reviewing materials that will be presented at the meetings and arising from the Small Business Roundtable work plan and activities
- Supporting and participating in the meetings, work plan and activities of the Small Business Roundtable and contributing to discussions, recommendations and actions
- Providing advice to the Minister on matters relating to the Roundtable mandate
All Roundtable business is confidential and members agree to adhere to regulatory acts pertaining to confidentiality.
