
Executive Director of the Quesnel & District Chamber of Commerce and Councillor for the City of Quesnel
Coralee Oakes has been Executive Director of the Quesnel & District Chamber of Commerce since 1999 and is a newly elected City Councillor. In both these roles Coralee has been a strong advocate for business and has worked to assist both business and the local community to diversify, to mitigate the economic effects of the mountain pine beetle epidemic. She is also Chair of the Environmental Committee for the City of Quesnel and has been successful in implementing partnerships with businesses to improve stewardship and reduce their environmental footprint.
She is the past president of the British Columbia Chamber Executives and has served as a Director on the BC Chamber of Commerce, Canadian Chamber of Commerce Executives, Cariboo Chilcotin Tourism Association and numerous local not for profit organizations. In 2009, Coralee was appointed to the Minister's Council Tourism, led by B.C's Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts.
Coralee is the proud recipient of the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Association award of contribution, Suburban Chamber of Excellence and was selected to be a Canadian Youth representative for the Pacific Rim in China.
A graduate from the University of British Columbia with a degree in Political Science, Coralee also has a diploma in Performing Arts and is a Certified Business & Retention Consultant.
