Laura is the Senior Vice President for Economics & Western Canada, Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) where she works with all levels of government to represent the interests of CFIB’s approximately 10,000 small business members in this region. Prior to joining CFIB, Laura worked for The Fraser Institute as Director of Environment and Regulatory Studies.

She has authored or co-authored a number of public policy studies, edited five books, published news articles, testified before Parliamentary and Congressional committees on proposed legislation and coordinated the Fraser Institute’s annual survey of mining companies.

Laura received her BA in Economics from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts and her MA in Economics from SFU. She has taught economics at Coquitlam College and BCIT.
