President and CEO of Shelfspace - The Association for Retail Entrepreneurs

 Mark Startup is the President and CEO of Shelfspace.  After dedicating many years to representing, supporting and speaking on behalf of retailers, Mark is now recognized as a respected and knowledgeable representative of the retail community.

 In 1982, Mark jointed Shelfspace (formerly Retail BC, Retail Alberta and Retail Merchants' Association of British Columbia) as General Manager.  In 1985, he was appointed President and CEO.

 Mark is the Past-Chair of the Coalition of BC Businesses, a member of the Rotary Club of Vancouver, is the Past-President of the Canadian society of Association Executives (BC chapter) and is the past Director of Tourism Vancouver.

 Mark received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario.  In 1987 he was designated a Certified Association Executive (CAE) by the Canadian Society of Association Executives.

 After 27 years with the organization, and through many victories and changes within the industry, Mark is still as passionate and dedicated to representing Western Canada's retailers as ever.
