Activities
The Small Business Roundtable organizes several types of activities and events throughout the year:
We want to see you in action! The Minister of Small Business, Technology and Economic Development along with roundtable members will be touring small businesses throughout the province in 2009. Tours will allow owners to express their views and ideas in their own working environment. Tours will take place at businesses that have been identified as developing an innovative approach to doing business and employ less than 50 employees.
Please contact the Roundtable Secretariat, RoundtableSecretariat@gov.bc.ca if you have a proposal for a small business tour in your area.
The Small Business Roundtable wants to engage the small business community around the province in a continuing dialogue to identify opportunities and actions to make British Columbia the most small business friendly jurisdiction in Canada. 2009 consultations will build on the 2008 Roundtable Report to Government by enhancing governments understanding of regional and industry-specific issues and potential actions within the following areas:
- Human resources access, development and education
- Reducing regulatory burden for small business
- Reducing tax complexity for small business
- Small business opportunities and challenges related to climate change action
- Small business training priorities
- Leveraging local opportunities
If you would like to send in a submission to the Small Business Roundtable regarding the 2009 areas of discussion, or if you have an issue related to small business you’d like to talk to us about, please email us at: RoundtableSecretariat@gov.bc.ca
