British Columbia's Small Business Roundtable

What is the Small Business Roundtable?

The permanent Small Business Roundtable was established in 2005 to engage in a dialogue with small business owners to identify the key issues and opportunities facing small businesses in British Columbia, and to develop recommendations for small business and government on strategies to enhance small business growth and success.

The Roundtable is chaired by the Minister responsible for small business.  Board members are recognized as leaders in their community and represent all regions of the province.

Roundtable Commitments:

Small businesses are an important contributor to the economic well-being of the province, accounting for 98% of business and 54% of private sector jobs in B.C. The Roundtable supports organizations, initiatives and programs that foster an entrepreneurial culture.

With the help of public consultations, Twitter conversations on #BCBizChat and #BCSmallBiz, the Roundtable works to better understand business issues and opportunities, which are often unique to the region where they were identified. To request a consultation in your region, please fill out our consultation request form and we will be happy to follow up with you.

In our 12th Annual Report to Government, the Roundtable highlights their work from the past year, as presented under the Four Pillars as well as priorities for the Small Business Task Force to address over the coming year. Our collective intent is to foster a progressive business climate that leads to the improved prosperity of all British Columbians.

The Roundtable is proud to share a variety of small business success stories in their Annual Reports to Government.
