Overview

Vancouver Island/Coast region spans Vancouver Island and encompasses some of the southern shoreline including Powell River to Bella Bella and Bella Coola. Greater Victoria's 377,000 residents make up almost half of the region's 817,000 people. Victoria's economy is anchored by the provincial government and Canada's Pacific Naval Fleet and a healthy innovation sector and high value construction. North of the Capital Region, the economy is driven by tourism, aquaculture and forestry.
